CAROLINA HURRICANES
FIRST GOAL/LEARN TO PLAY PROGRAM
The Carolina Hurricanes First Goal Program Assisted by Carvana is a partnership between the Carolina Hurricanes, the National Hockey League and the National Hockey League Players' Association in conjunction with the league-wide Learn To Play program. The initiative provides first-time participants (boys and girls) aged 5-9 with hockey equipment as well as the opportunity to enjoy instructional hockey sessions.
Participants are introduced to the game of hockey by Hurricanes alumni and receive brand-new, Hurricanes-branded CCM equipment, fitted by Pure Hockey, including:
Helmet | Shoulder, Elbow, & Shin Pads | Gloves |
Pants | Socks | Skates |
Equipment Bag | Jersey | Stick |
The weekly Learn-to-Play sessions take place in July and August over a six-week span. Also, each participant receives two tickets to a Hurricanes home game (date TBD), a Hurricanes Hockey Kids Club membership, and a graduation certificate. Once the program is complete, families are given next-step opportunities for their new hockey players to continue learning the game!
